To do a press moulding of a few road wheels all you need is something like a lump of modelling clay that sets really hard to take a "print" from one side of your master. You then make your copies by filling the "mould" with something like milliput. If you scout around the web you'll find lots of suggestions on the best materials for both halves of this technique...

Cheers, DaveDaveMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707036473168150957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2282023973761006945.post-35066493910046132002013-06-17T12:55:14.637+01:002013-06-17T12:55:14.637+01:00I have been hesitant to get into moulding. Good to see you have caught the refurb bug - it is one of the most enjoyable facets of modelling IMO.

Usually guns and the like can be sourced from the spares box but parts like those Elefant wheels - the cheap solution is to take off one of the wheels you have and try making a press-mould from it. Wheels are one of the easiest things to do especially where you only need detail on one side as with running gear. Plenty of tips on the www how to do it and suitable materials to caste the replacements from.

Cheers, DaveDaveMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707036473168150957noreply@blogger.com
